About Åshöjdens
Me, Ewa Posner-Storm  and my family have been breeding Gordon setters for 30 years next year. I bought my first one 1977, Josetts Gazell. When I saw a Gordon setter for the first time when I moved up to the northern part of Sweden I just fell in love. It was so beautiful and I wanted one myself. So that’s when I decided to buy my own, Gazell. She was a very beautiful and nice dog. It was a bit hard to find hunting territories, but she sure had a great ability! I mostly used her for breeding.
My first own breeded Gordon was Zoraya, she was born in 1980.  And she was the mother of many successful dogs. The moment when I shot my first bird over Zoraya I remember like it was yesterday. It is such an amazing feeling,  just as much now as then.

That was the start of everything. I also met my current husband, Sten Storm, in 1987  and it turned out that dogs and hunting was a interest that we shared, so we made it our kennel, and since then we have done everything together. I would like to say that we have put a lot of milestones for the race in Sweden. Already 1981 Zoraya was the first Gordon Setter who was qualified to a Swedish competition called Fjällpokalen, in English the Mountain Goblet. In 1994 Åshöjdens Nicole daughter of Zoraya was the first Gordon setter who took first price in an open class in the mountains. In 2001 we received a price for Best Breeders from the Swedish kennel club. We are the first and so far the only breeders of Gordon Setter who has received it. And in 2005 Åshöjdens Tracy got historical when she became the first Gordon Setter to win the Swedish Championship on mountain! As you can see we have had much success over the years and we are very grateful for it.

The Best Breeder price from the Swedish kennel club we got for putting high standards on our dogs. Breedingquality, mentality and healthy dogs is a good foundation for breeding material.
Over the years we have won many prices and 7 of the dogs we have been breeding are now champions. Several of these are mother and father of many other high classified dogs in Scandinavia. Many of our dogs have also received the price called Best Swedish Gordon Setter of the year, based on hunting competitions.
We are very happy to provide good hunters with dogs so that they can show them on contests and shows, and we will continue doing that.

About the family
Me and my husband Sten have two children together. Jim, 19 years old and Johanna, 16 years old. Both me and my husband trains, hunts and competes with the dogs. Gordon setter is not a “one-man” dog as many people say, they rely on everyone.
Both our children has taken big interests in the dogs and the kennel. Jim has taken his hunting examination and in autumn 2005 he shot his first birds over Åshöjdens Tracy. Johanna will take her hunting examination in the summer, and she likes to take the dogs with her when she’s out jogging. She also have her own dog, Åshöjdens Lucky, daughter of Tracy. Both children take very big responsibility over the dogs, and they provide with very much so that we can have our Kennel, since both me and my husband have other careers. We have dogs and hunting as an interest, we do not provide ourselves on the dogs. I work as a police and Sten works as a seller. In that way we think that it gets more fun and serious.
At the moment we have four dogs, and we treat them all like family members. They are with us all the time, and we think that’s very important so that they feel solidarity with the rest of the family. In that way they get great mentality.
